Wedding Photographers-Albany-NY-Birch-Hill-Catering-Kristen-KurtKristen & Kurt planned a wedding celebration that was one of the most relaxed and fun events I've seen. Strict formality was out and they were with the people they loved the most and were totally comfortable. The ceremony and reception were both at Birch Hill Catering. Sarah & team hosted a great event and put out an amazing spread for everyone, and decorated the Pavilion to match. Fernando Bustamante kept everyone at the party and on the dance floor till the end!! Stephanie is originally from Nebraska and is a First Lieutenant in the Air Force as an Air Battle Manager flying on the E-3 AWACS. She is stationed in Oklahoma and deploying soon. Curtiss grew up in Ballston Spa, NY and he's a Captain in the Army as a Blackhawk helicopter pilot, currently stationed at Fort Drum near Watertown, NY. They met one weekend 3 years ago over a game of beach volleyball while they were both in training, Curt at Ft. Rucker in Alabama, and Stephanie at Tyndall AFB in Florida. They will not live together full time for at least another 3 years due to the commitment to their country. These two were married in a amazing outdoor ceremony on the lawn at Anne's Washington Inn, Saratoga, NY. Due to the long distance, we didn't meet Stephanie & Curt in person until a month before the wedding. But it was clear in that short meeting that there was a spark and comfort level between the two of them. It was a perfect day for these two families, who all stayed at the Inn, which served as a family reunion, uniting both of the families with Stephanie & Curt's marriage. Thank you for including us in your day as wedding photographers, and THANK YOU both for your service!

Reverend Neal Relyea officiated the ceremony. A surprise to all after the vows and rings, Reverend Neal proceeded with this exchange after asking past and present military to stand and be recognized. I'll paraphrase: "I have a military background too, and I happen to, at least for now, outrank this young man so I have some orders for him. Soldier! About Face! (Curt faces his friends & family), Right Face!.. Captain..KISS YOUR WIFE!"

Reverend Neal counseled them when we were all at the rehearsal, "Be sure you hold the kiss for at least a count of five so the photographers can get a couple of good photos". The count was at least TEN! They're savoring every moment.

Stephanie's dad was a big tease, as he describes Curt's positive attributes. He's reading the attributes, but he then jokes with Curt that he couldn't make out Curt's writing in this one spot. Fun and heartfelt words of support for the new husband and wife.
