Wedding Photography, Albany, NY-The State Room-Samara & RyanWe first met Samara & Ryan while preparing the wedding photography for Samara's brother Jordan & now sister-in-law Anxhela last fall. We enjoyed some time with them and Samara's horses during their engagement session in the Saratoga area. But now, it's time for their State Room wedding, in downtown Albany, NY. The professionals (Eric, Tom, Emily and staff) at the State Room provided an amazing experience all night long! And Mike Garassi, Music Man Entertainment kept the party rocking until late in the evening. Parents and the bridal party all prepared for the big day at the Hilton. We had some pesky rain during the day, but it didn't stop anyone!

Really! No stress, no worries...invited close friends and family and they had a blast! What a pleasure to be their wedding photographers for the Lake George wedding. Amara is an archeologist, and her first job was at Fort William Henry. The Fort meant so much to her, that she asked them to allow her wedding to take place on the Northwest Bastion of the Fort...yes, the actual Fort! Then they headed next door to the Fort William Henry Hotel & Conference Center!

The team at the Fort William Henry Hotel were awesome and put on a great feast for everyone! Afterward, Amara & Greg introduced the entertainment--a fiddler and keyboard player, and a square dance caller named Luke Donforth. After a bit of demonstration, everyone was on their feet participating, and having a wonderful time! Just take a look at the faces!

Dan's brother knew that he, his wife and their families were going to miss experiencing their event first hand, but asked Susan Knott Photography to be their eyes and photograph their day at the most beautiful location in Chestertown, NY called The Fern Lodge. It's relatively new and sits alongside Friends Lake. If you haven't checked them out, visit their website and then plan a visit! We spoke to Jamie & Dan on the phone a few days out to plan their wedding photography and arranged to meet them at the Lodge on their wedding day. They were excited when we arrived, and happy that Dan's brother Anthony gave them the gift of wedding photography, so they could remember this day always. Jamie & Dan decided to have their ceremony outdoors on the second floor of the boathouse, right on the lake, which you can access by walking down a winding slate walkway through gardens. Their officiant, Judge Jim McDermott performed the brief ceremony, Sharon from The Fern Lodge was nearby with some sparkling champagne for the newlyweds.
Thank you so much Jamie & Dan for allowing us to document your event for everyone to see, and for you to keep forever. It was a pleasure to meet you both and we wish you much happiness in the years to come!

It is Vietnamese tradition that the groom's family and friends leave their home in an orderly fashion and travel to the bride's home. They carry with them traditional tea and food to be shared together with the joined families.
